this is the kind of challenge i get pretty often.
get hold of some silicone tube as used in fish tanks for air etc, connect that to the end of a new gun nozzle and it gives you a long thin flexible tube to get into tight spaces. wrap plenty of insulating tape over the joint so the pressure from the gun cant pop the tube off and make a sticky mess. cut the end of the silicone tube at about 45 degrees and the sealant should almost finish itself to a decent standard if you have a steady enough hand and a bit of confidence. if the tube alone isn't stiff enough to get good control, tape a splint of wood or steel to it so you have full control over the end. good luck with it. -------------------- [size="5"]iveco daily drivers side seat base wanted

I've never used it but I have seen a 'sealer tape' used at the local caravan/motorhome dealer repair shop. The guy stuck one end to a pole, placed it into position then used the pole to finish the seal he said that they use it all the time as it saves a lot of internal dismantling which is often impossible. I'll try and find out what it is called
Great Blog by the way, looking good This post has been edited by tinker: Mar 11 2010, 07:34 AM -------------------- Tinker 'Those who wander are not necessarily lost' |

Iv got the same thing in my bathroom. Im going to use masking tape to both side to keep the mastic of the finished surface then with a small nozzle force the mastic into the gap, wipe down with a wet finger and if it needs it again go over it straight away leave for about 5mins to start going off then pull the tape away, it will remove all excess and leave a nice straight line. if any ridges are left just go over it with a wet finger very lightly. Job done.
This is on my todo today list. |

This is pretty much what I had planed to try. Nice to see someone that's tried it this way. I will try later.
